Hole saw aprox. 1 " in diameter

Fretsaw (can be made by grinding down hacksaw blade)

Drill to match geared machine tuning head posts

Screwdriver to attach tuning heads

An accurate metric ruler, graduated down to millimeters

A woodworker's square, to make right-angle lines

Hammer (plastic or rubber-faced hammer optional but nice)

Clamps and spring clothespins

Large fine-cut metal file

Rasps, coarse file, drawknife, spokeshave (any or all)

Sandpaper and steel wool
