The Adventures of the Midnight Monster

Once upon a time, in the 1960s, I was a student at the University of Minnesota. (See one of the places I worked. When the bridge over the Mississippi river went down, it landed about ten feet in front of the door of the lab. Fortunately, I hadn't been there for years.) I was also a comicfan, and wanted to draw. So I got a niche with the Minnesota Daily as an occasional editorial cartoonist. This was the era of the Vietnam War, the hippie, and the underground comic. I'll not bother showing you the Viet-toons, but here's a comic strip I hoped to get in the school paper:

I guess it just wasn't political enough. But it was fun.
